JULY 4 EVENING
Jesus Christ, the righteous: the atoning sacrifice for our sins.
Toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubim be. You shall put the mercy seat above on the ark, and in the ark you shall put the testimony that I will give you. There I will meet with you, and I will tell you from above the mercy seat.
Surely his salvation is near those who fear him. Mercy and truth meet together. Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.
If you, Yahweh, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand? But there is forgiveness with you, therefore you are feared. Let Israel hope in Yahweh, for there is loving kindness with Yahweh. With him is abundant redemption. He will redeem Israel from all their sins. — For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God; being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus; whom God set forth to be an atoning sacrifice, through faith in his blood, for a demonstration of his righteousness through the passing over of prior sins.
